The Port of Taranto – among the biggest international ports in Europe along the Suez-Gibraltar route equipped with intermodal rail/road links with the national network - is characterized by the multifunctionality of its piers according to the different production sectors: the commercial, industrial, and oil ones, together with tourism, a segment that has been developed following a targeted diversification of port activities and which currently sees the port involved in activities related to boating and yachting and cruise/passenger traffic.
